Co-founders Muskan Umata and Aarya started Readify Live to bridge the educational gap facing South African students due to high tutoring costs. We are dedicated to offering every student empathetic, top-tier guidance in their own environment, fostering the essential literacy and STEM capabilities required for their future success.

Muskan Umata
Muskan Umata leads Readify Live as Founder and CEO, bringing her expertise as a Wits-trained teacher who is now finishing her Honours research. She specialises in tutoring English and Mathematical Literacy, merging her formal academic background with extensive private coaching.
Her goal for local education is bold: ensuring every student can interpret complex texts and exercise critical judgment. She maintains that testing should always facilitate growth, rather than defining it, advocating for a learning space where innovation and imagination thrive. This philosophy drives Readify Live, guiding her selection of teaching methods and the way they celebrate every student's unique academic milestones.

Aarya is the co-founder of Readify Live and Head of STEMify Live, our STEM division, where she focuses on making Mathematics and Science more accessible, engaging and enjoyable for learners. She tutors Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Natural Science and IT. Aarya joined Readify Live because she believes every learner deserves access to quality education and the chance to reach their full potential, whatever their circumstances. She hopes to help build a more inclusive, accessible approach to education in South Africa, where learners are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, build confidence and discover their strengths. Her vision for South African education is to give young people not only academic knowledge, but also the confidence, curiosity and skills to shape their own futures.

Smelokuhle is a certified isiZulu specialist and Wits alumna who is driven by the goal of building impactful and immersive educational paths. She partnered with Readify Live based on her conviction that digital platforms can expand quality learning far beyond room walls. Her aspiration for the South African academic landscape is to foster a culture where every child has equitable access and feels intrinsically worthy. For Smelokuhle, true teaching transcends mere grades: it is about cultivating self-assured, talented, and inspired youths who are ready to make a significant impact on their wider communities.

Umaira became a teacher because she loves helping children learn, grow and believe in themselves. She creates a positive learning environment where every learner feels supported, encouraged and excited to learn. She describes her teaching style as patient, creative and encouraging, and her favourite moment in any lesson is seeing a learner's face light up when something finally clicks. Umaira believes every child learns differently and at their own pace, and that praising effort, not just results, builds the confidence and resilience learners need to succeed.

Imaan tutors Mathematics and CAT (Computer Applications Technology). Throughout her own schooling, she was lucky to have great teachers who encouraged her to do her best and always found ways to help. Those teachers shaped both her academic success and her personal growth, and she joined Readify Live to pass that same support on to the next generation of learners. Her vision for South African education is simple: equal access to quality education for every learner.

Zaafirah is a Digital Media Designer who creates thoughtful, human-centred digital experiences that are engaging, accessible and easy to understand. Using UX/UI design, she turns complex ideas into simple, meaningful experiences. At Readify Live, she brings her design and Human-Centred Design skills into education, because she believes design can transform how learners experience learning. Her vision for South African education is to put learners at the centre, using design and technology to make learning more accessible, creative and meaningful, and to help learners truly understand and connect with what they learn.

Danyaal knows first-hand how hard school can be when your brain works differently. Living with ADHD, he struggled through high school, until a teacher in his matric year believed in him, backed him and helped him improve. That support changed everything. Today, Danyaal is a partner in Readify Live because he wants to give learners like him the same chance: someone patient in their corner who helps them discover what they're capable of.
